JSPL produces economical and efficient steel and power through
backward and forward integration. It has mining capacity of over 20 MTPA
of coal and iron ore at various locations within India and abroad.
Owning captive mines has ensured the company of uninterrupted supply of
high quality raw material. This has reduced the dependency on third
party thereby resulting in cost and time saving.
To mitigate the negative impact of mining on the environment the
company has been carefully preparing its mining plans. Air and water
quality, noise and other environmental parameters are monitored
regularly and maintained well within permissible limits.CSR activities
around mining areas are undertaken to address the socio-economic needs
of the local communities.
